When the telephone rings mid afternoon on a Saturday, would you decide to take the call?
If the mobile phone is turned on then someone must be expecting to answer it. If you do not want to talk business out-of-hours then try turning the phone off, or just don’t answer it.
Well, officially we were on Christmas vacation, we had advised our clients that the office was closed from Friday through to the following Thursday. So when the phone rang on the Saturday before Christmas we figured that maybe our client was in a panic and needed answers.
Do you find that personal computers are like motor vehicles? They’re great when they work properly, and a disaster when something goes wrong. Our client just could not open their MYOB file. We tried telephone support, but if a client is not that computer savvy, then there’s only one solution.
We made the decision to drive over to our client’s premises and see why they couldn’t open the MYOB file. All they wanted was to get a report of their financial status prior to Christmas, so they could budget for an enjoyable Christmas Vacation.
We made a sacrifice of our time so that we could help out a client in need. We still believe in good “old fashioned” customer service, in the knowledge that we can choose whether or not to provide an after hours bookkeeping service
