On the 23 January 2007, Woolworths (Safeway) in Australia will be donating its entire supermarket’s profits for the day to the Drought Relief.
The funds will primarily be used by the CWA for immediate support for rural families with the remainder to help fund research into sustainable farming practices. This is expected to be in excess of $3 million dollars. So if you do your normal shopping on Tuesday 23 January you will helping farming families who are currently doing it tough. Please pass this on to as many people as possible.

Woolworths CEO Michael Luscombe said the bulk of the donation will be directed to the Country Women’s Association, with the remainder allocated to sustainable agricultural research projects.
Mr Luscombe said there is an immediate need to support Australian farming families, “Every Australian is starting to feel the real impact of the drought and unless we act now, the unique rural heritage of Australia will be under threat.”
