The customer was adamant that she wanted half price, because the shop across the road was offering the same item at half price
“Why don’t you have a half price sale like they have?”, she asked.
“Well, we are running a 50% off sale, so yes, you will get 50% off some products!”, the shop assistant explained.
“Well,, that’s not good enough,” complained the customer. “I want half price, like they are doing across the road!”
No matter how much the poor shop assistant explained, the irate customer stormed across the road complining that she couldn’t get half price, only 50%
Same thing, just a different vocabulary
To many people bookkeeping and paperwork are the same thing, account and nookwork are the same thing – just different vocabulary
