Update March 2008 – this restaurant is now Out Of Business! – as if we are surpised .
There’s a restaurant on the Gold Coast that made the promises but never delivered. No need to mention the name; just another example of extremely bad customer service.
In August we approached them asking to make a booking for our Christmas function. They were too busy organising some pending some weddings. Then there was the Gold Coast Show weekend special, then there was Father’s Day in September. Then they were getting ready for the Indy. Then it was the Melbourne Cup .. and now they’re getting ready for Christmas.
They’ve just lost a $2500 booking because they’ve been too busy.
Each client wants everything done by yesterday
We’re always busy with helping bookkeeping clients. That’s because each client wants everything done by yesterday – so we have to look at what we can do to help them. Sometimes that may mean we just have to reschedule less urgent jobs.
We’ve found that if we don’t get back to a client as soon as possible, we’ve lost them
The restaurant really does need our business, but has a strange way of showing it. If that is the way they treat us initially, it makes you wonder how we would be treated on the day – they’ve lost our business, not just once, but for ever. They’ve also lost any business they may have gained through the business function that we were going to host. This restaurant leaves us with a bad taste!
