There’s a busy restaurant on the Gold Coast overlooking the Broadwater that we will not be returning to.
There’s nothing worse than going out with a group of people and being seated on a long row of small square tables all pushed together. The tablecloths were a nice touch, but when the waitresses placed the drinks on the table, it was not uncommon for the glasses to be balanced right on the join of two tables.
We witnessed three occasions where patrons spilt almost full drinks because they didn’t realise there was a join in the tables, and the glasses toppled over.
If that wasn’t enough, the waitresses were busy serving the customers, leaning across customers, stretching across the tables, and the peice de resistance was a waitress pouring an icy cold large orange juice down the back of a female customer who ended up being showered with orange juice.
What is it with customer service today? Everyone is in such a hurry to complete the task, that they do not pay attention to detail. The staff thought it was a great joke and were sniggering in the background. Their solution was to wipe up the juice like nothing had happened. If you’ve ever experienced spilling only a small quantity of orange juice, you’ll know how sticky the surfaces remain after wiping up the liquid.
The staff were quite indignant when asked to replace the chairs that were splashed in orange juice. The management really made little attempt to win back the customers. Another example of short sightened businesses
